Monday 27th June – We officially opened our school community orchard 🌳. We were joined by Mrs Ward and her family, local councillors, members of the local community and some Governors of our school. Each key stage sang or shared poems about trees. A few Year 4 children read out letters explaining why trees are so important for the environment.

Mrs Ward cut the ribbon to officially open the orchard and we were excited when she revealed the sign. Thank you to everyone involved and special thanks to the year 4 Ambassadors for showing our visitors around and to the Eco Council and Mr Warrington for leading the afternoon.

If you would like to visit the orchard it will be open this week after school via the gate on Hollow Lane. Please ensure your children stay with you as the site is quite steep and a little slippery due to the rain over the past few days.
