Throughout the children’s learning journey at St Edward’s we promote that ‘practise makes permanent’ and are continually checking knowledge and understanding of current and previous learning.
Evidence indicates that encouraging children to continue their learning at home will result in a more secure understanding of new learning, quick recall of facts and motivate children to try their very best. As we are a first school, our children rely on you, as parents and carers, to encourage and support them with this.

SPOTLIGHT ON DIVERSITY
As part of our commitment to ensuring our children have a good understanding of the diverse world in which we live, we are sharing a series of half termly ‘Big Questions’ to encourage discussions at home and in school.
This half term our big question is: ‘Who would you choose to join your class and why?
We are inviting all children to discuss their thoughts in answer to this question at home.
Each class will be discussing and debating their ideas throughout the half term, ending with a whole school worship during which each class will present and share their outcomes.
