We have done exceptionally well this year at the Leek Allotment Show and have some impressive awards including a 1st for an amazing photo of some Foxgloves in the school garden!  We also got an impressive 1st place for our plate of mixed fruits from the EYFS garden area. A child in Year 4 was placed 2nd for his picture of the school garden, he is also very proud of his accomplishment. Many of the other children who attend photography club with Mrs Powell received awards for their photographs of the school garden and some received a Highly commended award. Our vase of herbs, collected by the Caterpillar Class and arranged with Mrs Powell also came in 3rd place! Brambles before, after school and holiday club made a scarecrow from recycled materials which was also placed 3rd!
Finally we received a few more Highly commended awards, including flowers arranged in an unusual container, the lobelias which were planted and tended to by The Eco Council were planted into the Aeroplane arrangement. Finally, a child in Year 2 had grown some sunflowers from the seeds given to him at the launch of the Show, which also received a highly commended award.

All of the school staff are incredibly proud of all of these achievements and it has been an amazing way to join the school’s community.
