Animal Magic at SEAC – A Wild Week of Learning and Wonder!
This week, St Edward’s CE Academy Cheddleton was transformed into a mini-zoo as Animal Magic visited on Tuesday and today, bringing an unforgettable hands-on experience for our children!
From meerkats to skunks, owls to chameleons, and even snakes and skinks, all children from Nursery to Yr 4 had the incredible opportunity to meet, observe, and hold a variety of fascinating creatures. 🐾
Through this immersive experience, children explored key scientific concepts:
Animal classification – understanding groups such as mammals, reptiles, birds, and more.
Dietary habits – learning the differences between carnivores, herbivores, and omnivores.
Habitats and survival – discovering how animals adapt to thrive in their environments.
But the learning didn’t stop at science. This experience also nurtured wisdom, one of our core character values. Children showed:
Curiosity – asking thoughtful questions and seeking to understand the natural world.
Respect – treating animals with care and gentleness.
Reflection – considering how humans and animals coexist and the importance of conservation.
It was a magical blend of knowledge and character development — a week we won’t soon forget!
