Joining the LAC, as Principal of St Edward’s Academy, Cheddleton in September 2018, I bring prior Principal experience of leading significant and rapid school improvement in two Stoke-on-Trent schools. I have a wide and varied knowledge and understanding of building effective teams, leading Teaching, Learning and Assessment and all elements of Personal Development, Behaviour and Welfare. I welcome and appreciate internal and external monitoring, challenge and support as a means to continually improve the provision, development and outcomes for the children, staff and community that I serve.

Personal Development

I have always lived locally in Leek  and prior to working at Cheddleton.  Whilst undertaking my BA honours degree in Education I worked in Woodcroft First school in the role of a teaching assistant, and working in the before and after school club.  Since working at Cheddleton, I was delighted to have been appointed in January 2019 into the role as HLTA and Children's Champion.  This is a challenging but enjoyable role and gives me the opportunity to develop new skills and support children's social and emotional wellbeing as well as further developing their academic learning.  I feel that I will be a positve LAC member and will be able to share my own thoughts and opinions on matters that arise.  I am proud of the strong working relationships I have built with the teachers and support staff since starting at St Edward's Cheddleton.  In the role of support staff governor I intend to be a positive voice for the support staff, LAC and children here at Cheddleton.

Teaching is my passion and I am committed to ensuring that all children at SEAC are given the opportunities to succeed and realise their true potential.  I welcomed the opportunity of becoming a member of the LAC in order to develop a deeper understanding of the strategic direction of the Academy and to provide appropriate support and challenge to its aims.

As a primary school teacher I feel that my understanding of the education system would support me in this role.

I have always enjoyed the ethos that SEAC promotes and actually moved into the village so that my son could attend the school.  I am enthusiastic to take on an active role within the LAC and be an informed parent voice.

I have worked in education for the last 17 years and am currently Headteacher of a large primary school in Stoke on Trent.  The expertise I would bring to the role include an extensive knowledge of Teaching and Learning, effective use of assessment date in school improvements and the Ofsted framework; together with a clear understanding of effective governance.

I have lived in Cheddleton for 8 years. I have a son and daughter who both attend SEAC. I have over 15 years experience in Environmental Health, specialising in health and safety and food safety.  I hope to transfer some of these skills and knowledge to offer support and guidance through the LAC.

I moved to Cheddleton in 2016 with my young family. Whilst watching my daughter and family grow, I feel in love with the community that we live in. Wanting to give something back to the community, I jumped at the chance of becoming involved with St Edward's and helping to serve in any way that I can. I have been a secondary school teacher for nearly 10 years and this has given me a keen interest in education and the importance of enriching young people's lives. I currently teach RE and this will enable me to support and be part of St Edward's journey.

I have lived in Cheddleton for almost 10 years, and I have a daughter who currently attends SEAC. I am keen to be involved with the LAC, as I believe I have skills which could be useful in the running and leadership of the school. I am the Marketing and Innovation Controller for a salad manufacturer based in South Staffordshire, and my role as part of the company’s leadership team gives me experience across both business and leadership which are transferable skills for my role within the SEAC LAC team.

I have lived in Cheddleton for 15 years and have 2 daughters; one of whom attended St Edward’s First School and one who is presently enrolled at SEAC.  I believe that, as a member of the LAC, I could become more involved in the school and with my background in Accountancy, would have a positive impact on the continuing improvement of the school.
