Awards

St Edward's CE Academy Cheddleton is very proud of its achievements and especially so when these are recognised by other professional organisations.

Healthy School Status was awarded to St. Edwards in 2007 and again in 2013 and we continue to uphold the principles of keeping fit and healthy.

We have achieved the Active Mark over a number of years and regularly participate in tournaments organised between the LEP [Leek Education Partnership] School.  At county level we had the following successes during 2016:

County Hockey Champions

County Cricket Tournament - runners up

County Rugby Tournament - reached the semi finals

In 2012 and 2015 we gained Gold status for the ArtsMark Award in recognition of the high standards attained by our pupils in art, music and dance.

In 2013 we received Full Dyslexia Friendly Status which was a very proud moment for the school.  This will be reviewed in 2017

Not to be outdone; the catering facilities has also received top marks following visits from the hygiene inspectors. Rate My Place awarded the kitchen a 5 Star rating on more than one occasion.

LEEK ALLOTMENT HOLDERS & GARDENERS ASSOCIATION

The school garden entered into a competition organised by the above group in 2014-15 and again in 2015-16 and we are thrilled to announce we were awarded first place twice, out of the 10 local schools who contributed.

Some images from the garden can be seen in the Gallery section of the website

In September 2016 our school won the 'Expressions of Care' art project, organised by the Douglas MacMillan charity, which was publicised county wide.

In 2015 we were thrilled to receive an Outstanding grade for our SIAMS [Church] Inspection
