Where everyone is valued and encouraged to develop their gifts and talents fully

About
St Edwards

Dear Parents and Carers

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you and your child to St Edward’s CE Academy Cheddleton, which is part of the Staffordshire University Academies Trust [S.U.A.T.] where, ‘Learning and Caring Together’ is at the heart of all that we do.

Choosing your child’s school is one of the most important decisions you will ever make.  The purpose of this website is to inform you about our vision, values and ethos, curriculum standards and provision.

As a Church school our fundamental purpose is to promote positive values and virtues within our school community, where every person is respected and valued, made in the image of Christ.  The promotion of Christian values and characteristics – which are reinforced through the curriculum and worship – underline the British values which we develop through daily work and play.

We are a safe and happy school where children have fun.  A place where self-esteem and confidence are nurtured; where there is an emphasis on high expectations and academic standards appropriate to each child’s abilities within a rich, vibrant environment to support learning.  We want children to enjoy their time in our care, to acquire and use knowledge and skills, to question and explore, to develop positive attitudes, behaviour and personal beliefs.

Every child is very important to us and we are a committed, exceptionally hardworking team who aspire to provide the best pastoral and educational experiences.  We are proud of our children and their many successes and achievements, both within and beyond our academy.  We place great importance on developing the whole child so that they will be better prepared to live in this ever changing world.

Our families are very supportive and work together with us in partnership for the benefit of all concerned.  The staff are supported, encouraged and challenged by the Local Academy Council and the S.U.A.T. Trust Board.  We have a dedicated P.T.F.A. who volunteer their time organising a range of social activities to bring everyone together for fun and for fund raising.  We have very strong links with both local Churches, St Edward’s Anglican Church and St. Andrew’s Methodist Church, with whom we share worship and community events.

Our Academy operates an ‘open door’ policy so that parents/carers can communicate with their child’s teacher, or myself, as soon as possible.  We provide regular Newsletters, induction meetings, workshops, weekly celebration assemblies and family lunches which all help to create opportunities to work in partnership with our parents and share with them our successes.

Whilst I hope you find this brief introduction useful, there can be no substitute for a personal visit and you are warmly invited to do so, by prior arrangement.  You can be assured of a warm and friendly welcome.

Yours sincerely,

MRS T.A. WARD
Principal

We hope that you enjoy your visit to our website and that you find the information you are looking for.  Please feel free to share your comments or any queries via emailing our Academy.  Thank you.
